What up, Internet! Let me introduce you to myself.

I’ve pretty much been in to video games my entire life – when I was 5, my dad bought the first family computer I’d ever get to play one. We had owned Atari systems and Commodore 64s before that, but this computer was my real introduction to video gaming. If you can imagine a five year old playing such things as Life & Death or Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (no kidding), that is.

Of course, I played more age appropriate games too, such as Dogz, Catz and Babyz. Eventually, as I got older, I progressed to amazing and horrific gems such as Phantasmagoria and the Gabriel Knight series, which are still a couple of my favorites. I wouldn’t say I got heavily into gaming until I was around fourteen when I began playing massive multiplayer online game, Ultima Online. I think this is where my video gaming obsession truly began and I was instantly hooked.

I typically gravitate toward adventure, role-play, open-world, and simulation games. Titles such as Fable, the Elder Scrolls series, Fallout, and The Sims and the Nancy Drew series, for example. I love a game with a good story and a lot of game time. I also, to this day, enjoy older titles such as Black & White, Police Quest, and Zoo Tycoon. It’s not that I mind Action games necessarily (I’ve been known to play FEAR, Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, and the like), it’s just that I rather enjoy exploring and following or discovering story lines over just killing people all day. Though, I will always have fond memories of the day I got my Steam achievement for beating 200 zombies over the head with a skillet. Proud day.

Thanks to my early introduction to Ultima Online, I have tried many major MMORPGs at least once. While World of Warcraft has been the only one I’ve truly stuck with (proud account holder since beta!), I’ve also played EverQuest, The Sims Online, Final Fantasy XI, Star Wars Galaxies, Lord of the Rings Online, DC Universe OnlineAPB: All Points Bulletin and Lineage II over the years. These days, you can find Guild Wars II, RIFTStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Final Fantasy XIV, Elder Scrolls Online, WildStar and of course WoW on my trusty computer.

As an adult, I began developing game assets, models and textures for a variety of projects during my self-employment stint from 2009-2011, much of it for the virtual world of Second Life. It didn’t take long for me to realize that my true passion in life was video games and concept art. Now, three years later, I am back in school at the age of 31 for game design and development, a path that I am hoping will help me change my entire career path for the future. It is my dream to one day become a concept or texture artist and contribute artistically to the industry that I’ve come to love so much.

In the mean time, hopefully you’ll enjoy this website and the various things it aims to provide. I aim to produce reviews, previews, video trailers, the occasional tutorial, and more as this site grows.
